Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Juvenile Reentry

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe was recently recognized as one of three tribes to participate in the BJA-funded Second Chance Act juvenile demonstration grant. The Leech Lake Band, including its Tribal Court, will partner with CJI, Cass County Probation Department, and the Ninth Judicial District Court for Cass County, Minnesota, to create a culturally-specific, asset-based, wraparound reentry program for Leech Lake juveniles returning to the Reservation from placement in secure detention.

Lowell WIB Strategic Reentry Planning

CJI worked with the Greater Lowell Ex-Offender Reentry Partnership through the Greater Lowell Workforce Investment Board, and the Career Center of Lowell, to develop a three-year strategic plan to begin to slow the revolving door of incarceration in the community of Lowell, MA.

MA Reentry & Employment

With support from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, CJI conducted a three-county examination of the preparation of prisoners for employment upon release.

MA Criminal Justice Reform

CJI, with support from The Boston Foundation and the Gardiner Howland Shaw Foundation, has embarked on a statewide effort to improve outcomes in the Massachusetts criminal justice system. This project has a number of components geared toward identifying problems and gaps in the system, developing solutions and assisting in the implementation of reforms designed to increase public safety and reduce the costs of the corrections system.
