CJI was contracted by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), in conjunction with the Virginia Community Criminal Justice Association (VCCJA), to construct this Roadmap for the implementation of evidence-based practices in local probation and pretrial agencies across the state.

CRJ’s Crime and Justice Institute (CJI) releases a briefing booklet entitled “Lighting the way: Improving Corrections Policies and Practices” which outlines their Integrated Model of Corrections Founded on Evidence-Based Practices.

The papers are designed to share information with criminal justice system stakeholders about how the implementation of evidence-based practices and a focus on recidivism reduction affect their areas of expertise in community corrections, defense, jail, judiciary, pretrial services, prison, prosecution, and treatment.
