Virginia EBP Roadmap |
Virginia Evidence-Based Practices Roadmap Evaluation ProjectCJI worked with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and Virginia Community Criminal Justice Association (VCCJA) to construct a Roadmap for the sustainable implementation and replication of evidence-based practices (EBP) in pretrial and probation agencies. As part of this contract, CJI conducted a retrospective study to review progress and benchmarks achieved across ten local pretrial and probation pilot sites within the areas of EBP, organizational development and collaboration (the components of CJI’s Integrated Model). CJI utilized the findings of the retrospective study to develop a dynamic Roadmap for the state agencies and local counties to move toward sustainable implementation and replication of EBP. The Roadmap offers pretrial and community corrections agencies a framework to diagnose and continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of recidivism reduction efforts. Through this process, DCJS, VCCJA and CJI gained new and valuable insights into lessons learned during implementation, and strategies for addressing challenges to sustainable changes to practice. The Roadmap provides the community corrections field with real-life insights into the challenges and opportunities for sustainable recidivism reduction efforts at state and local levels.
